Pelican Pete's Marina

(We will be offering all standard services during these times. Day rentals must be back at least 30 minutes before closing. Night rentals will begin at 6:00pm (1800). Standard Weekend/Holiday rates will apply for all rentals for Tuesday night/Wednesday - keys must be picked up Tuesday before closing. Paddle Craft are only available for rent during daylight hours, when the Marina is open.)
Looking for your next GTMO adventure? Come by the MWR Marina. We offer boat rentals including pontoons, skiffs, and sailboats alongside paddle boards and kayaks. Not ready to captain your own vessel? We offer monthly paddle trips and other outings. We have a small shop in case you forgot a tool or lure before you go fishing. Stop by and ask us about our deep sea fishing and other outings today.
You will need a Guantanamo Bay Captains License to utilize our vessels so download your Captain's License Study Guide TODAY!
Step 1) Download and study the guide.
Step 2) Walk in and take the written portion of the test during regular business hours.
Step 3) Once you pass the written test you can schedule your driving test, or if you need, we will give you lessons (FREE)!
Step 4) After you pass the driving test we take you on a Bay Orientation to make sure you know where the boundaries are.
Step 5) Get your license and go!

Services Offered 

AVAILABLE VESSELS
Basic Powerboats:
Pontoons - 10 persons including Capt*., with no gear
Key West (skiffs) - 8 persons including Capt*., with no gear
          *All max occupancy limits are based on no gear on board, just riders. Gear (coolers, fishing gear, diving gear, etc.) can be substituted for an occupants – see Marina staff for info.

     Weekday Rate $15/hr + fuel used
     Weekend Rate $22/hr + fuel used
     Overnight Rate $70/night, includes up to 10gals of fuel. Keys are available after 6:00pm, must be returned the following morning by 5:00am. Additional fuel charges may apply if max fuel is exceeded, additional hourly rates may apply if not returned on time.
     Tuesday Overnight Rate $120, includes up to 10 gals of fuel.  Keys are available after 6:00pm, must be returned by Thursday morning by 5:00am.  Additional fuel charges may apply if max fuel is exceeded, additional hourly rates may apply if not returned on time.
     *Rentals on Holidays are weekend rates
Sail Boats: Sailing Lessons (FREE, up to 8 sessions)
     Weekday Rate: $6/hr
     Weekend Rate: $10/hr
Paddle Craft Equipment:
     Sit on Top Kayak - $3/hr
     Paddleboard - $3/hr Peddle board - $5/hr
Water Taxi:

Weekend Water Taxi to the Hospital Cay:

Spend the morning fishing, swimming, sea treasure hunting, or just hanging out on Hospital Cay. Reserve a cabana and grill out with your friends and enjoy your own little island!
• $12/person round trip (Pelican Pete's Marina > Hospital Cay > Pelican Pete's Marina)
• Advanced registration is recommended to ensure you don't miss out BUT, Taxi to the Cay can be booked the morning of the trip – space allowing.
• Departures: 7am, 9am, 11am
• Returns: 9:15am, 11:15am, 1:15pm

Water Taxi to Leeward:

Did you forget your passport or miss the ferry? Want to spend the day at Chapman Beach? Check out the MWR Water Taxi!  Water Taxi transits between Windward Ferry Landing and Leeward Manatee Landing.  Pets count as a paid rider. 
• $8/person each way (minimum of 4 paid riders)
• Advanced booking available at Pelican Pete’s Marina, or call and request one for soonest pick up - pending availability - by calling the Marina at 757-458-2345 or 757-577-2808 (paid by cc over the phone)

Boat Pressure Washing Operation:
MWR Marina will offer Boat Pressure Washing service to the public. Services will be  Thursday - Tuesday from 1:00pm-6:00pm. (Closed on Wednesday). This service will be operated primarily by MWR Marina Mechanic and MWR Flex mechanic and staff. There will be three types of service provided:
  • RED - Power-wash only = $35.00
  • WHITE - Power  Washing and Towing of the boat = $55.00
  •  BLUE - Power Washing, Towing of the Boat, and use of the MWR trailer = $66.00
