Building Manager

INTRODUCTION: This position is located in the Naval Housing operation aboard Naval Station, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The purpose of this position is to provide onsite management of assigned Bachelor Housing building. The building manager will act as the primary contact point between management and residents/guest.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The incumbent performs inspections of common areas and vacant rooms to identify cleanliness and concerns and upload findings to the EMH system.
  • Inspect buildings and common areas to adherence to Unaccompanied Housing policies.
  • Perform various maintenance tasks for the assigned building(s), including but not limited to minor repairs (e.g., light bulbs, fire  extinguishers, air filters).
  • Report trouble calls and work requests to the Regional Calling Center, and track progress on repairs.
  • Assist with after-hours check-ins for Unaccompanied Housing facilities, including ID verification and helping residents with lockouts.
  • Manage the furniture, fixtures, and equipment within the assigned buildings, ensuring proper control and inventory.
  • Notify the Complex Manager of any discrepancies or changes in the EMH Report concerning personnel residing in the building.
  • Oversee and monitor the work performed by Laborer staff.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

 

REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Preferred knowledge of minor maintenance tasks, including furniture, appliance, and keyless lock repairs.
  • Basic understanding of office procedures, including data collection, filing, and report generation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic math and reading skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English.
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing work schedules and priorities.

Conditions of Employment
