INTRODUCTION:  This position is located within the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department’s O’Kelly’s Bar. The best person for this position is friendly, outgoing and is able to work under pressure for short periods of time.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Incumbent prepares alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks by selecting proper pre-mix and garnish; serves drinks to customers and collects payment. Washes bar equipment, glassware, utensils and fixtures. Cleans tables and booths as necessary. Ensures bar area is properly stocked at all times. Prepares requisition sheets for replenishment of bar goods and supplies. Verifies money at end of shift and prepares daily activity report. Cleans bar after each shift. Performs other related duties as assigned.



 Incumbent must have the knowledge and skill to mix and serve beverages; must have knowledge of the correct proportions and mixtures to be used in preparing beverages according to name request from patrons; operating knowledge of cash register is required.  One year of practical bartender experience preferred.

EVALUATION:  Candidates will be evaluated on quality and nature of the experience pertinent to the position.  Applications must show sufficient knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the full range of duties of the Bartender.
