The Camp Bulkeley gym offers a sauna, Cardio Theater, dumbbell sets and a fully equipped weight room.

The facility is located on the Joint Task Force side of the Naval Station which is more accessible to the deployed troops working at the detention camps..

Cooper Field Complex

The Cooper Field Complex offers two turf softball fields, one turf football/soccer field, one youth turf baseball field, and one multi-purpose turf field. There are four tennis courts, plus batting cages, a skate park, putt-putt course, beach volleyball court, outdoor hockey rink, outdoor basketball court, and a 400-meter track. 
The fields are closed with the exception of MWR events. 

NO pickup &/or unsanctioned games of any type allowed anywhere in Cooper Field complex.

MASKS ARE REQUIRED WHEN SPOTTING, and as requested by facility staff.

The facility offers a cardio theater, saunas, group exercise classroom, 2 full-size gymnasiums, free weight lifting area, and racquetball courts. The facility also offers 4 Olympic lifting platforms, a family fitness area, a cycling studio and a covered outdoor NOFFS zone.
Monthly Fitness class schedule is available on our MWR GTMO facebook page.

The workout area between the softball fields will remain closed until further notice. 

"Pickup games" of soccer, basketball, etc. on any of our fields or courts are prohibited!

Marine Hill Pool

The Marine Hill Pool is a 50-yard, 6 lane lap swim pool located in between the PWD building and Fire House at Marine Hill.  

Marine Hill pool is open as follows during Windjammer pool extended closure:

Adult Lap Swim:

Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays; 0530-0800 & 1600-1930.

Command Training: 
Monday & Friday, 0800-1000m (all by advance reservation only).

Rec Swim:  
1100-1500 Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays,
1130-1930 Thursdays & Saturdays.
1300-1900 Sundays.

SCUBA: 0700-1200 Sundays and 1700-2100 Tuesdays (for registered scuba classes only).

**No recreational pool use during designated lap swim hours; No command/group training during rec swim or lap swim hours**

Complete the 35 mile (61,000-yard = 1232 pool length) swim by June 25 and earn a prize!
Pick up swim logsheets at the Marine Hill pool beginning April 26.


Pool Rules for Lap Swim & Command Training:

  • No recreational pool-area use (no sunbathing, no rec swimming, etc.) during designated Lap Swim hours.
  • Patrons must follow all applicable NSGB social distancing guidelines.
  • ?Pool lane use is available on a 1st-come, 1st-served space-available basis during designated lap swim hours.
  • 2 persons per lane (3 if cohabitating), and all swimmers must maintain social distancing while in the water or on the pool deck; max 18 Lap swimmers in the pool area at any given time.
  • If the pool is full, you must wait outside the facility until someone leaves.
  • Enter & exit your designated lap lane from the shallow end only; no deep end deck use.
  • Swimmers must immediately exit the pool area once done swimming laps.
  • MWR’s equipment is not available for checkout or use.
  • Patrons should to come ready to swim and must leave immediately when designated lap swim hours are over; restrooms are closed (but may be available on a case by case/emergency basis).
  • Children 10-17 must have a current Navy Youth Swim license & photo ID. No children under 10.
  • All other pool & facility rules must be adhered to; please follow the Aquatics staff’s instructions.
  • NO group/Unit swim testing/training during regular lap swim hours; for Command/Unit training/testing pool time, please see below.

Pool Rules for REC SWIM and events:
Please note that social distancing max capacity remains at 50 persons on a 1st-come, 1st-served basis; others will be allowed into the facility as other patrons exit, on a 1-out, 1-in basis.  And in addition to regular pool rules, the following applies:

  • Pool space is 1st-come, 1st-served for the first 50 patrons. Once 50 people enter, no further entries will be allowed unless someone leaves for the day.
  • Patrons must follow NSGB social distancing guidelines at all times, in & out of the water.
  • Limited seating due to distancing requirements. Unless same household or cohabitating, please do not move deck chairs closer together.
  • Tot-dock stations are available for parents to use with their small children in the shallow end.  Tot docks are available for individual households with small children who cannot stand/touch; please do not have multiple households’ children on the same tot dock at once. Older children/children who can stand/touch in the shallow water should not hang on or use tot docks.
  • 1 or 2 lanes available for lap swim during Rec Swim Hours; do not lap swim outside of lanes; follow lane use rules as noted above. 
  • MWR cannot provide equipment or lifejacket checkout. You may bring your own US Coast Guard approved lifejackets or small pool toys for your own children to play with; please disinfect them prior to entering the pool. 
  • No inflatables are allowed to be brought into the facilities.
  • No food/snacks or beverages (aside from water) inside the pool area, no exceptions; please use the picnic tables outside of the pool area.
  • Restroom/locker-room facilities are limited to one person or household at a time.
  • No "saving" spots for others; check-in must be in-persona and is on a 1st-come, 1st-served basis.
  • All other pool & facility rules must be adhered to; please follow the Aquatics staff’s instructions.
  • NSGB MWR Navy Youth Swim Licenses all expire yearly on March 31st; children under 17 wanting to use the deep end or slides must have a current Swim License. Please see the lifeguards for info and swim testing, and check out the information in our 'downloads' tab.


COMMAND PT/UNIT TRAINING POOL TIMES:
Command PT /Unit Training pool use available at MHP Mondays & Fridays 0800-1000.
Minimum 1-week in advance reservations required, No walk-ins.

All social distancing & facility rules must be adhered to during Command/Unit pool use.
Group training/testing is not allowed during regular lap swim hours; advance reservations for any type of group training/pool use are required.

 

SCUBA:
SCUBA instruction pool use with authorized instructors 5pm-9pm Tuesday evenings and 7am-Noon Sundays.
No individual pool use for or during SCUBA training or testing; anyone in the pool area must be part of a confirmed SCUBA class with an MWR-contracted, authorized instructor. 
DO NOT ENTER the pool area during SCUBA instruction unless you are a rostered scuba student for that specific class/date!

Splash Pad

* Note: the Splash Pad is closed until further notice.

The Splash Pad is an unmanned, zero water depth playground. It features spouts and sprinklers meant for younger children.
The Splash Pad can be utilized for birthday parties, play groups, and general recreation for young children on a first-come, first-served basis.

Splashpad will be open 0800-1800 daily excluding Wednesdays (Closed Weds).
Open US holidays 0800-1800.

  • Everyone must follow NSGB social distancing rules at all times; if any area gets crowded, please self-regulate.
  • Parents must directly supervise their children.
  • MWR Toys & equipment are not available for use.
  • Please follow all other posted facility rules & guidelines.

Sports Program

The Guantanamo Bay MWR Sports program offers a wide variety of athletic events and leagues.
Our MWR Sports program offers multiple running/sporting events each year, including 5ks, 10ks, half/full marathons, sprint triathlons, duathlons, and others!
We also have Intramural sports leagues & tournaments that are open to the entire community, and occur throughout the year. 
IM sports include flag football, basketball, soccer, softball, kickball, indoor & beach volleyball, racquetball, badminton, tennis, ultimate Frisbee, and cornhole.
Currently, a limited variety of sports equipment is available for check-out at the front desk of Denich Fitness Center for your individual leisure play.

Please note; 'pickup games' of soccer, basketball, etc. on any of our fields or courts are currently PROHIBITED.

Great news GTMO community...we are happy to have approved sports leagues!!!
(Players and spectators, please follow NSGB social distancing protocols and game play mitigations so we can continue to offer sports!).

Cornhole league is in progress.

The Windjammer Pool is located behind the Windjammer restaurant complex.  This family-friendly, nearly Olympic-size recreational swimming pool has multiple slides, and a covered kiddie wading pool for children 5 & under.

12:00pm-7:00pm on US holidays.
12:00pm-5:00pm on major holidays; i.e.: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years.

Windjammer Wading pool:
Please note the following rules apply for wading pool use:

  • Wading pool is for children ages 5 & under only, with direct parental supervision.
  • Maximum 2 families (or 8 people, whichever is greater) at a time.
  • Entry is on a 1st-come, 1st-served basis; no ‘holding’ spots for others.
  • Please be conscious of others waiting to use the wading pool, & share wading pool time nicely.
  • Please maintain NSGB social distancing best practices.
  • Patrons may bring their own toys for use; MWR Aquatics’ toys & equipment are not available.
  • No regular diapers! Swim pants or swim diapers only.
  • Wading pool may close for sanitation if/as needed.
  • Please exit the wading pool area when directed to do so by the lifeguards.

 

Windjammer Orange & Blue Slides:
Please note the following rules apply for slide use:

  • All children under 17 must have a current Navy Youth Swim License and show their wristband to the attendant in order to use the Orange or Blue slides; NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • One person every 6 feet on the slide structure at a time; please wait at the bottom of the slide stairs for the people in front to move to the next designated spot(s) before climbing up.  No grouping together on the stairs! 
  • Person at the top must ensure the rider before them has exited the slide drop zone before sliding.
  • Ride the slides Feet-First, sitting or laying down.
  • NO backwards, NO headfirst, NO twisting sliders.
  • No doubles, chains, or stopping on the slides.
  • Sliders must immediately swim away from/exit the slide drop zone area.
  • Parents may not catch their children off the slides.
  • No lifejackets or flotation devices allowed on the slides. If a person cannot swim on their own, they cannot use the slide!
  • Please maintain NSGB social distancing best practices and follow any/all posted guidance.
  • Slides may close for sanitation if/as needed.

 

AquaFit will resume at Windjammer Pool upon pool reopening (TBD)
Join Carl for AquaFit 1030-1130 Saturday mornings!  
Adults only; class size is limited to 18. No other persons allowed into the facility during AquaFit classes. 
Please come fully ready to get in the water; locker-rooms will not be available prior to AquaFit class start.

Please see our Navy Youth Swim License and SPLASH downloads for complete information on Youth Swim Testing and Aquatics facilities access requirements. 

  • Children 10-16 MUST have a current Navy Youth Swim License to be able to enter the facility without an adult guardian, and to be able to access the deep end, slides and floating recreational structures. 
  • Children under 10 must pass the Navy Youth Swim test in order to be able to accces the orange & blue slides, any part of the deep end, or floating recreational structures, and must have a parent present at all times. 
  • Any child without a Navy Youth Swim License must be accompanied by and within arm's reach of an adult parent/guardian at all times.
