Waiter / Waitress

I.  INTRODUCTION:

This position is located at the MWR Bayview aboard Naval Station, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. This position is to provide assistance with the direct support of MWR Food and Beverage.

II. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The incumbent will perform “behind-the-scenes” food and beverage service functions, together with related housekeeping activities such as cleaning linen, glass and silverware, dishes, and condiment containers. Serving food and beverages or on direction of supervisor. Readies and cleans assigned groups of tables with glasses, stirrers, napkins, silverware, ice, and other extras that may be required. Supplies back up tables with such supplements as butter, ice, coffee, fruits, juices, salads, and breads. Refills food and beverage containers and performs emergency cleanup services. May mop, wax, lounge windows, and clean entryways. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors. Responsible for complying with standard methods and procedures such as conduct, etiquette, dress code, and table setting techniques.

III OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation techniques. Knowledge of proper table setting techniques. Ability to follow oral instructions; performs routine manual tasks involving few steps. Must have an understanding of personal hygiene standards. Work requires prolonged standing, walking, reaching, and light lifting. Objects handled and carried seldom weigh excess of 10lbs.

EVALUATION:

Candidates will be evaluated on quality and nature of the experience pertinent to the position.  Application must show sufficient knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the full range of duties of a waiter / waitress.

  • If you are a current federal employee, submit your last three evaluations.
  • As required by Executive Order 14043, Federal employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 regardless of the employee’s duty location or work arrangement (e.g., telework, remote work, etc.), subject to such exceptions as required by law.
