**Starting Saturday, August 1 we will be allowing all patrons to use the facility regardless of last name on the weekends ONLY. We will still have the 20 person capacity in effect. Monday-Friday you will still need to use the facility on odd or even days depending on your last name. Names that start with A-L can work out on odd days, and names starting with M-Z can work out on even days**

 

The Camp Bulkeley gym offers a sauna, Cardio Theater, dumbbell sets and a fully equipped weight room. The facility is located on the Joint Task Force side of the Naval Station which is more accessible to the deployed troops working at the detention camps.

 

Please note: All Intramural Sports programs and Fitness events are cancelled/postponed beginning March 20th until further notice.

Cooper Field Complex

The Cooper Field Complex offers two turf softball fields, one turf football/soccer field, one youth turf baseball field, and one multi-purpose turf field. There are four tennis courts, batting cages, a skate park, putt-putt course, beach volleyball court, outdoor hockey rink, outdoor basketball court, and a 400-meter track. The fields are utilized almost every night for leagues and tournaments, but are available for reservation during the day and most weekends. Cooper Field Complex also offers a concession stand which serves food and beverages during most league games and special events.

Denich Fitness Center

 The facility offers a cardio theater, saunas, group exercise classroom, 2 full-size gymnasiums, free weight lifting area, and racquetball courts. The facility also offers 4 Olympic lifting platforms, a family fitness area, a cycling studio and a covered outdoor NOFFS zone.



The max performance pad and the workout area between the softball fields will remain closed until further notice.

Marine Hill Pool

The Marine Hill Pool is a 50-yard, 6 lane lap swim pool located in between the PWD building and Fire House at Marine Hill.  

 

Marine Hill pool operations & hours Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays!

LAP SWIM:

Individual Lap swim timeslots available Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays:

Mornings 0530-0615; 0630-0715; 0730-0815.

Evenings 1600-1645; 1700-1745; 1800-1845.

(No lunchtime lap swim)

Reservations are recommended; walk-ins will be allowed on a space-available basis. Please call x2825 between 8am-6pm M-W-F to make reservations (call Friday for Monday lap swim reservations). Lap swim only, one person per lane, max 6 people in the pool area during each designated lap swim timeframe. No recreational pool-area use (no sunbathing, rec swimming, etc.) during these times. 

The following rules apply for Lap Swim:

  • Patrons must wear masks when entering/exiting the facility, & must follow social distancing guidelines.
  • Pool lanes available by pre-registration; walk-ins will be allowed on a space-available basis.
  • Lap swimmers only; one person per lane, max 6 people in the pool area during each designated lap swim timeframe. Lap swim time blocks are 45 minutes (for sanitation between times/users).
  • Enter and exit your designated lap lane from the shallow end only; swim in the middle of your lane.
  • No recreational pool-area use (no sunbathing, socializing, etc.).
  • No early entry/late exit; swimmers MUST exit the lap lane when the lifeguard calls for it.
  • MWR’s equipment is not available for checkout or use.
  • Patrons should to come ready to swim and must leave immediately when designated swim time is over; restrooms are closed but may be available on a case by case basis.
  • Children 10-17 must have a current Navy Youth Swim license & photo ID. No children under 10.
  • All other pool & facility rules must be adhered to; please follow the Aquatics staff’s instructions.

 

COMMAND PT/TRAINING:

Command PT and Training pool use available Mondays & Wednesdays 1100-1400 at Marine Hill pool.

1-week in advance reservations required, No walk-ins; please email Deborah.l.moors.naf@mail.mil for Command/Unit pool use reservations. All NSGB social distancing & facility rules must be adhered to during Command Training pool use.

 

SCUBA:

SCUBA instruction pool use with authorized instructors 5pm-9pm Tuesday evenings. No individual pool use for SCUBA training or testing; must be part of a confirmed SCUBA class with an MWR-contracted, authorized instructor.

Splash Pad


The Splash Pad is an unmanned, zero water depth playground. It features spouts and sprinklers meant for younger children. The Splash Pad can be utilized for birthday parties, play groups, and general recreation for young children, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Splashpad will be open 0800-1800 daily excluding Wednesdays (Closed Weds).

  • Everyone must follow social distancing guidelines at all times; if any area gets crowded, please self-regulate.
  • Parents must directly supervise their children.
  • MWR Toys & equipment are not available for use.
  • Please follow all other posted facility rules & guidelines.

Windjammer Pool

The Windjammer Pool is located behind the Windjammer restaurant complex.  This family-friendly, nearly Olympic-size recreational swimming pool has multiple slides and a covered kiddie wading pool for children 5 & under (wading pool & slides closed until further notice).

Rec Swim at the Windjammer Pool 

Rec Swim on Thursdays, Saturdays, & Sundays 11:30am-7:30pm

Please note that social distancing max capacity remains at 50 persons on a 1st-come, 1st-served basis; others will be allowed into the facility as other patrons exit, on a 1-out, 1-in basis.  And in addition to regular pool rules, the following applies:

  • Pool space is 1st-come, 1st-served for the first 50 patrons. Once 50 people enter, no further entries will be allowed unless someone leaves for the day.
  • Patrons should wear masks when signing in and entering/exiting the facility, and must follow social distancing guidelines at all times.
  • Limited seating due to distancing requirements. Unless same household or cohabitating, please do not move chairs closer together.
  • Multiple tot dock stations are available for parents to use with their small children in the shallow end.  Tot docks are available for individual households with small children who cannot stand/touch; please do not have multiple households’ children on the same tot dock at once. Older children/children who can stand/touch in the shallow water should not hang on or use tot docks.
  • No slides, No wading pool, No lap swimming, & No playground access at this time.
  • MWR cannot provide equipment or lifejacket checkout. You may bring your own US Coast Guard approved lifejackets or small pool toys for your own children to play with; please disinfect them prior to entering the pool. 
  • NO inflatables of any type are allowed in the facilities.
  • No food/snacks or beverages (aside from water) inside the pool area, no exceptions; please use the picnic tables outside of the pool area.
  • Restroom/locker-room facilities are limited to one person or household at a time.
  • No "saving" spots for others; check-in must be in-persona and is on a 1st-come, 1st-served basis.
  • All other pool & facility rules must be adhered to; please follow the Aquatics staff’s instructions.
  • Navy Youth Swim Licenses all expired on March 31st; children under 17 wanting to use the deep end have a new Swim License. Please see the lifeguards for info.

Please see our Navy Youth Swim License and SPLASH downloads for complete information on Youth Swim Testing and Aquatics facilities access requirements.  Children 10-16 MUST have a current Navy Youth Swim License to be able to enter the facility without an adult (18+) guardian, and to be able to access the deep end, slides and floating recreational structures.  Children under 10 must pass the Navy Youth Swim test in order to be able to accces the orange & blue slides, any part of the deep end, or floating recreational structures.  Any child without a Navy Youth Swim License must be accompanied by and within arm's reach of a parent at all times.
